Description:
The General Store (formerly known as W.R. Sturtevants) is thought to have been erected by Andrew Lovejoy and Thomas Taylor around 1805. W. R. Sturtevant said that Leonard Hamilton replaced the earlier enterprise about 1805.
A 2-1/2 story, wood frame edifice in the Greek revival style with a front gable elevation, the building boasted a pillared porch, small paned windows and a slate roof. Although remodeled over the years, it still remains a store, which is now owned by Randy and Shelly Pippin. The structure is on the State Historic Registry.
