Description:

The Georgian Revival style school (now the Recreation Center) was an adaptation of a popular school design used until the 1890s. It is a nicely detailed building with an attractive cupola-belfry and a hip roof covered with slate shingles. Built 1915, the school originally had two classrooms which were modified to make two rooms upstairs and two down. According to Flo Sturtevant, the building was constructed for $6,135. Whatever its initial cost, the building is now considered a valuable addition to the State Registry of Historic Structures.
