Description:

STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE:
An outstanding example of a 2-1/2 story, brick, Federal style house with a gable roof, interior chimneys on the gable end elevations where they are an integral part of the brick wall construction, and a Georgian first floor plan, i.e., basically two rooms on each side of a center stair hall. The house is in an excellent state of restored preservation.
The house was erected by John Harding, a local Hartland physician.


ADDITIONAL ARCHITECTURAL OR STRUCTURAL DESCRIPTION: Wall surface of north, east, and south elevations divided into recessed panels of pilasters and three-centered relieving arches with impost blocks. Stone lintels above first floor windows. Entrance with fanlight and sidelights and palladian window directly above on front (east) elevation.
