Benjamin Sumner House. ("Cupola Farm") 1796; restored 1910, West Claremont (Routes 12A and 103)
Long regarded as one of the finest Federal houses in the upper Connecticut valley, "Cupola Farm" was constructed as a tavern in 1796 by former Loyalist Benjamin Sumner. The building was remodeled with a mansard roof about 1850, but was restored to its original appearance in 1910 by Roy D. Hunter.
