Description:
In 1819, Leonard (d. 1879) and Hiram (d. 1862) Gilmore of Acworth, N.H., bought the Tyler mills and operated them until 1841. In 1825, the brothers built this two-family house, and Leonard operated the West Claremont Post Office here late in the 1840's. Later owners were: (1851) Daniel F. Maynard; (1855) John S. Farrington. Now owned by Judge and Mrs. Albert D. Leahy, Sr. Mrs. Leahy is the daughter of the previous owner, Charles Farrington, son of John S. Farrington.
