Leonard and Hiram Gilmore House

In 1819, Leonard (d. 1879) and Hiram (d. 1862) Gilmore of Acworth, N.H., bought the Tyler mills and operated them until 1841. In 1825, the brothers built this two-family house, and Leonard operated the West Claremont Post Office here late in the 1840's.

Later owners were: (1851) Daniel F. Maynard; (1855) John S. Farrington. Now owned by Judge and Mrs. Albert D. Leahy, Sr. Mrs. Leahy is the daughter of the previous owner, Charles Farrington, son of John S. Farrington.
